Company excursion to France
In October the great day had come: our long-desired company outing to meet our colleagues at Aix-en-Provence commenced. It was an international meeting of colleagues from Germany, Spain, Italy and Romania. The German team was a bit late to arrive on Friday night due to a delay at the gateway, but this was compensated for by a sumptuous welcome buffet including French wine at the Eguilles showroom.
We spent Saturday enjoying a guided city tour at nearby Aix-en-Provence. The city is located in the French department Bouches-du-Rhône which belongs to the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in the south of France. 30,000 of the approximately 140,000 inhabitants are students and this big quota of students, together with the Mediterranean climate, coins the cityscape. In surveys in France comprising the question „What would be your favourite place to live at?“ Aix is the second most popular place, following Paris (source reference: Wikipedia).
The day ended with a typical French supper where lively discussions took place among all employees.
On Sunday we went to Cassis. This small town is situated on the Mediterranean in a bay of the Calanque coast between Marseille and Toulon. From Cassis we went by boat to have a view of the Calanques, or, to be precise, the three nearest ones, Port-Miou, Port-Pin and En-Vau.
After a little detour into Marseille harbour, we went back to cold Germany.
